Since 1989 I have been building one-of-a-kind pieces for residential and commercial clients, designers, architects, builders, and gallery owners. I choose to work in solid wood because it is a versatile, durable, renewable resource with a friendly presence. Furniture-making incorporates the meticulousness of machining and the artistry of sculpting.

I began my career studying fine furniture design and construction with Jeffrey Greene at his studio in New Hope, Pennsylvania in 1989. His award-winning apprenticship program, as well as the rich history of furniture-making in the New Hope area including George Nakashima and other artists, contributes to my work as I attempt to showcase the beauty of natural wood in each piece I create.

After the apprenticeship, I worked for two high-end cabinetry/furniture shops in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Bethesda, Maryland. My work included a wide variety of items: from Park Avenue penthouse suite renovations; to pews at the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.; to circa 1700s home restorations; as well as many private and commercial projects. During this time I was also designing and building my own fine furniture.

In 1995 I opened my own studio now located in Santa Fe County, New Mexico specializing in one-of-a-kind pieces of fine furniture and cabinetry. My work has been shown in galleries from Chicago to Santa Fe, and can be found in many homes and businesses throughout the country. Recent exhibits include the American Craft Council Show in Baltimore, Maryland in February 2011, and the Western Design Conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in September 2011.

I use the highest quality materials combined with the finest craftsmanship from start to finish on every piece. Traditional joinery along with continual innovations, such as my use of bent laminates and interlocking pegs to allow for wood movement, define my style. I am constantly exploring new techniques to push the limits of solid wood design. Durability is of the utmost importance: my pieces are built to last for generations. This along with limited production ensures the collectible promise of your investment.
